Men are stepping forward to act as Caregivers Caregivers are usually the people who are support people with disabilities. They are either unpaid relatives or friends. The caregivers provide practical emotional and spiritual support to the patients with tools for self-empowerment and healing. Initially only women relatives or friends used to act as caregivers, however, these days' men are very much willing to work as caregivers as certain men admit that the job of caregiving is gratifying. The caregiving service is also known as dependant care or voluntary caregiver and informal carer. A caregiver has to do the housekeeping, cooking and laundry works along with taking care of the patient, but domestic chores are only the beginning. They also have to monitor medication administration, assisting with therapies and exercise, and advocating for the person during doctor visits. These chores act as a part of their tasks for the day that require planning, suitable transportation and organization. Caregivers are also required to have good communication and math skills, along with being in perfect health and shape. They are required to learn to assist someone with dressing, feeding, bathing and other personal care activities, which is difficult to manage in certain illnesses.
